Registered Veterinarian Technician
Registered Veterinarian Technicians are in demand! If you have this training, you should have little trouble obtaining
a job. Purdue University has offered this degree for some time and because of the demand others are also planning
or considering offering this program.
Depending on whether they are helping with small or large animals,Registered Veterinary Technicians do things
like*:
- collect blood samples
- perform bandaging
- do EKG's
- Perform pre-surgical work-up
- Set up IVs
- Take temperatures
- Groom & clean animals
...and much much more.

Employment opportunities for Purdue graduates in Indiana and nationally exceeded number of program graduates
almost sixfold in 2005. Current job placement: 98%.
In 2006: A.S Degree (approx. 1-2 year) graduates averaged $13.75 /hour or $28,600 per year.
B.S. Degree (approx. 4 year) graduates averaged $15.47 /hour or $31,721 per year.
